Apres ski at La Folie Douce in Val d’Isere

Après ski is a fundamental part of the ski holiday experience. Whether lounging in deck chairs at the side of the piste, or dancing on table-tops in our ski boots – we love to unwind after a day on the mountain.

This week is National Cocktail Week – and what better way to celebrate than by sharing a delicious ski-themed cocktail recipe with you. We’ve teamed up with the Rose and Crown Bar in Godalming to bring you the Red Run Raspberry Mojito – a scrumptious recipe that pays homage to the fine sport of skiing.

Remember: drink and ski responsibly!

The Red Run Raspberry Mojito

Gomme syrup or sugar

Crushed ice

Golden rum

Step 1: Muddle three wedges of lime and five raspberries in a rock glass with either some 20ml of gomme syrup or a generous teaspoon of sugar.

Step 2: Add in a scoop of crushed ice and 50ml of golden rum.

Step 3: Stir with a bar spoon (or teaspoon if making at home).

Step 4: Top the glass with a snow cone by adding more crushed ice on top of the glass to make a dome.

Step 5: Drizzle with a tiny bit of grenadine (enough to run down the cone) – this will cause the “red run” effect.

Step 6: Garnish with a little red flag on a cocktail stick and a sprig of mint. Et voila!

From the 19 January 2018 until the end of March, the Rose and Crown Bar will become an après themed bar serving the best ski themed cocktails imaginable. Make sure you visit and try some of the fabulous drinks on offer (including the Red Run Raspberry Mojito)!
